Cookie Policy

How we use cookies and similar tracking technologies.

Effective Date: July 12, 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to website operators. MODEL.AT uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage, pixels) to enhance your experience on our Platform.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies: These cookies are strictly necessary for the Platform to function. They include authentication tokens (Firebase Auth), session identifiers, security tokens (CSRF protection), and user preference storage (dark mode, language). You cannot opt out of essential cookies as they are required for Platform operation.

Functional Cookies: These cookies enhance your experience by remembering your preferences, including UI settings (sidebar state, zoom level), selected filters and search preferences, onboarding progress, and referral tracking codes. Functional cookies are set by default but can be disabled.

Analytics & Advertising Cookies: The current MODEL.AT build sets no third-party analytics or advertising cookies — we do not load Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar trackers. If we ever enable analytics or advertising technologies, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent (opt-in in the EU/EEA) before any non-essential cookie is set.

Third-Party Cookies: Some third-party services integrated into the Platform may set their own cookies, including Instagram (when embedding or authenticating), TikTok (when connecting accounts), and Stripe (for payment processing). We do not control third-party cookies. Please refer to their respective privacy policies.

3. Local Storage & Session Storage

In addition to cookies, we use browser local storage and session storage for: authentication state persistence, cached user profile data, draft content (unsaved posts, brief drafts), referral attribution data, and theme and UI preferences. These are functionally similar to cookies but can store larger amounts of data.

4. How to Manage Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. However, blocking essential cookies may prevent the Platform from functioning correctly.

Browser Settings: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge all provide cookie management in their privacy/security settings. Consult your browser's help documentation for specific instructions.

Mobile Devices: iOS and Android devices have cookie management in their browser and app settings. Clearing app data will remove locally stored data.

5. Cookie Retention

Essential cookies are retained for the duration of your session or up to 60 days for persistent login. Functional first-party storage is retained for up to 12 months. We currently set no analytics cookies; should that change, their retention periods will be disclosed here before they are enabled. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings.

6. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
